Banking & Collections

Collections calling, consent and staying the right side of a compliance review.

Collections is the one calling discipline where a configuration mistake scales into a legal problem. Damages under the TCPA attach per call, so an error in a campaign setup multiplies by however many numbers were in the list. That single fact should shape how the whole function is built.

These posts cover the regulatory frame in practical terms, which parts of a collection call are fixed script and which need judgement, and where an automated agent has to stop and hand the conversation to a trained person. Hardship, dispute and any signal of vulnerability are the obvious boundaries, and they should be enforced by the platform rather than by a briefing document.

None of this is legal advice, and the rules differ by state and by city. What we can offer is the operational shape that keeps a collections programme defensible when somebody asks to see the recordings.
