AI Voice

What AI voice agents can and cannot do on a real phone call.

The interesting thing about AI on a phone call is not volume. It is consistency. An agent says the same disclosure on call four hundred as on call one, which in a regulated environment is worth more than the extra dials.

That framing also makes the limits obvious. Anything requiring authority, negotiation or judgement is not a good fit, and a platform that merely discourages those behaviours rather than preventing them is not offering a control. The honest deployment pattern is narrow automation with a hard boundary and an immediate handoff.

We also try to be straight about the things vendors skip. Disclosure changes how people respond, in both directions. Speech recognition is very good and still not perfect, so the fallback behaviour matters as much as the happy path. Anyone telling you otherwise has not measured it.
